How we operate
|
From the start the emphasis is on quality instruction, with fun and entertainment, to make the experience a memorable one as appealing to old hands who shoot regularly and to new who have never held a gun before. Arriving at least 2 hours before the start time of the event, with a helper to help construct the large 16 foot octaganol marquee which has a back sheet, seats, a table, safety guidance sign, gun fitting sign and a bespoke gun rack. This is the meeting point before going out around a square, where on each part of the square different shooting angles are experienced. And How!! |

The automatic trap sends a testing clay approximately 65 yards, the landing spot is usually fenced off. A going away bird first, followed by a left to right crosser then a driven over the top, followed by a right to left crosser and finally a short but very sharp driven with barely time to think. Enough clays are given at each angle to give a chance but not enough to be boring.
The trap itself is camouflaged so that the clay is the target once it is launched.
The area around the trap is surrounded by a bunting fence with safety signs.
The whole set up for the outdoor system can be contained in an area 25—30 yards wide with a 70 yard depth to allow a little leeway for weather.

Instruction is paramount and with an attentive recipient even the all time bad coordination cases can be helped to hit the clay! Eye dominance is the key and with a wealth of experience, younger people aged 8+ to very mature people are all assisted. Customers come from many different backgrounds, ranging from military to business, scouts to students, family birthday to weddings and any hooray day, fetes and shows. 5 guns at a time are the usual arrangement, but 10 guns at a time can be used in order to get through a lot of people when required. It may need people to share a gun in a team, this is when it becomes great fun, naturally your team is unbeatable but you are trying to hit the clay before the others in order to score more points, The pressure is on can you do it? |
Michael comes dressed in breeks, long socks wearing a shirt, tie and in the summer, waistcoat. It adds to the atmosphere. This is not a cheap looking activity but a professionally run experience. This event you will remember.
Take down time is usually about an hour, the equipment is brought in a trailer and a four wheel drive so access to most locations is accommodated.
